Interesting article but they ARE beating a dead horse. The only way a Radio Shack store can make it these days is to have it as simply a "section" of the store....kinda like the garden dept at big box stores.
We have one Radio Shack about 27 miles from where I'm typing. He has a fairly decent business going but he does a lot of things like we all do.....satellite, internet, customer install work. Personally, I would NEVER consider opening a Radio Shack franchise again. Products these days are WAY more complicated and the customers you would draw would be the type who are confused by a light switch.....you'd spend 2 hrs on a $4.99 sale.
